Jesus had maintained a fairly low profile
for more than three years of ministry. But there was an inevitable
explosive confrontation brewing with the Jewish leadership that could
bring about the death of the God-man.
This
week we are the going to examine an explosive rebuke of the religious
leadership. I believe the Son of God’s words are going to be used at the
Great White Throne Judgment when this batch of Jewish leaders will be
sentenced to the Lake of Fire.
Jesus
told the Israelites to obey what the Jewish leadership taught out of the
Torah, but not to copy what they did. They were religious hypocrites who
said one thing and did something completely different.
They
actively resisted the fact that Jesus was the Messiah and tried to
convince the common people He was an imposter. The God-man ripped into
the Pharisees for swindling widows out of their properties.
Jesus
also scolded them for traveling throughout the Roman empire seeking
converts who became twice as bad as them. He also exposed the shady
loopholes for the business dealings of the Pharisees through false
oaths.
Print out the sermon outline and let's examine the
Scriptures together Sunday morning at 9:00 AM PST.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor John S. Torell
